In early 2011, the online donation platform of the Clean Baltic Sea projects was renewed, so that making donations is now simpler than ever. The force behind the platform renewal project is Jyrki Lalla, former Head of Finance & Control at Nokia and Nokia Siemens Networks, who has donated his efforts to the projects. Jyrki is committed to working one day a week for a period of six months in benefit of the Clean Baltic Sea projects.
After a 20-year stretch of intensive work, Jyrki decided to take some sabbatical time, focusing on working for the common good before returning to the world of business. He has always been interested in matters related to the environment and developmental co-operation, making these the natural options for him to consider also at this time. In the end, the choice was easy: Jyrki decided to donate his efforts to the John Nurminen Foundation and the Clean Baltic Sea projects, which demonstrated a hands-on approach and a great spirit of getting things done.
