Outlook 2025

We are seeking growth in terms of both the size of the projects we implement and the impact of the Foundation’s activities.

.

We will launch the Foundation’s new five-year strategy in 2025. During this new strategy period, we will build on the firm foundations that we have laid in previous years in order to develop new projects and new ways of working.

Our new 2030 strategy will steer our activities towards areas in which we can make the greatest impact. Our programme is divided into four focus areas. In order to implement this strategy, we restructured our organisation in early 2025.

The way we work is changing: we will bring the cultural expertise that has been so strongly present in the Foundation’s work since its inception to our environmental projects, and harness this cross-disciplinary expertise to work on these flagship projects together.

We are preparing to raise larger amounts of funding for our flagship projects, and are revamping our reporting to reflect our new approach.

Our activities always revolve around internationalisation and scaling. We are involved in activities that require the collective impact of environmental organisations, such as
the ambitious reform of the EU’s agricultural policy that will come into effect in 2028. We will also continue to work with Finnish environmental organisations to minimise water emissions arising from the green transition. We are working with European marine conservation foundations to prepare for the UN Ocean Conference, including a statement and programme on biodiversity loss in underwater habitats.

During the summer, we will run a campaign to raise awareness of eutrophication, strengthen our brand and get donations.

We will report more extensively on our sustainability performance, which will be based on our 2024 sustainability programme.
