Our activities on the Baltic Sea Day

We ourselves organised the Baltic Sea Festival on Pakkahuone Quay in Helsinki, Finland’s biggest plunge at Hietaniemi beach, an open doors event at our own museum, and a discussion about sustainable construction. These events reached more than 1,100 people. Members of the Foundation also attended events organised by our partners in other cities, such as Turku and Porvoo.

Baltic Sea Day was celebrated prominently in social media as well, and the Foundation’s account reached more than 70,000 accounts. The Baltic Sea Day Instagram account also increased its visibility. This account has around 1,100 followers and reached 14,000 accounts. Baltic Sea Day was also featured in all national media, including YLE and MTV’s main news and radio stations.

we conducted a survey on Finns’ relationship with the sea, in particular on what kind of well-being the sea provides and what Finns are willing to do for the sea. The survey was carried out by Verian.
