Environmental education
We educated school children about the state of the Baltic Sea and how to save it in cooperation with the Finnish Nature Association.
School visits and campaigns
We support environmental education for children and young people by organising Baltic Sea-themed lessons and Plastic-free Sea campaign events in partnership with the Finnish Nature Association.
In 2024, we organised 200 Baltic Sea school visits in more than 20 municipalities across Finland in collaboration with the Finnish Nature Association. Our visits reached nearly 4,000 children and young people and their teachers. We also organised 32 Plastic-Free Sea events in nine municipalities, reaching almost 1,400 people. More than 700 people – of whom more than half were under 29 – took part in our beach clean-ups. And we reached another 1,700 people at the Tall Ships Races’ Plastic-Free Sea event. We also ran a Plastic-Free Sea campaign on Instagram and Facebook in collaboration with the Finnish Nature Association.
During 2024, we trained 79 new Baltic Sea school visitors and Plastic-Free Sea ambassadors. We also organised a training camp for young people who are interested in visiting schools or doing other work for the Baltic Sea.
