Uskelanjokea ylhäältä kuvattuna: matala, ruskehtava virta kulkee kivien ja ruohokasvuston lomitse, kumpuilevat niityt ja pensaat reunustavat rantaa ja metsäinen rinne taustalla sinisen taivaan alla.

Cutting the nutrient load

Agriculture – and food production in particular – is by far the largest source of Finnish phosphorus emissions into the Baltic Sea. Our goal is to significantly reduce nutrient emissions from agriculture, and to influence legislation in a way that will further decrease this nutrient load. We also aim to reduce nutrient emissions from drained peatlands and former peat extraction sites by restoring them.
