Reducing chemical emissions throughout the Baltic Sea
Our project has successfully reduced hazardous chemical emissions into the Baltic Sea by collecting tank cleaning water from chemical tankers in ports. We are now sharing these best practices with other countries across the Baltic Sea region.

New guidelines to reduce nutrient emissions from ports
The handling of bulk fertilizers poses a significant risk of nutrient pollution in ports. To solve this issue, we created new guidelines that were preliminary adopted by HELCOM as a recommendation for the entire Baltic Sea region.

High Seas Treaty is set to enter into force
The ocean, suffering from extreme heat, acidification and oxygen loss, has received a glimpse of hope – and so have the billions of people depending on it. United Nations High Seas Treaty is to enter into force in January 2026.
